ABOUT jhr.
Your rights. Your voice. Your Impact.
jhr's goal is to make everyone in the world fully aware of their rights. Creating rights awareness is the first and most necessary step to ending human rights abuses. We are living in a global communications age and at no time in history has the media been more powerful. Yet, humanity has never faced so many interconnected and potentially disastrous challenges. jhr is harnessing the power of media to effectively and efficiently create wide-spread societal awareness on rights issues. If we all know, together we can change.

By mobilizing the media to spread human rights awareness jhr informs people about their rights, empowering and inspiring marginalized communities to stand up, speak out, and protect themselves. jhr has worked with local media partners to produce over 3000 human rights stories across Africa and has inspired countless others.

Founded in 2003, having programs in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Sierra Leone, Liberia, Ghana, Malawi and Zambia, jhr currently reaches over 20-million Africans weekly with stories that inspire and create positive social change.
