Michael Cooke started his acclaimed career at age 17 as an apprentice reporter in his native England. In 1974 he immigrated to Canada and took the helm of major North American newspapers including the Montreal Gazette, Edmonton Journal, Financial Post, Vancouver Province, Chicago Sun Times, New York Daily News and the National Post, as a founding editor. Winner of a Canadian Journalism Foundation's Excellence in Journalism award, Cooke continues to prove his reputation as a newsroom leader and a defining presence in the Canadian media landscape as Editor of The Toronto Star. Last year he travelled with jhr to the DR Congo where he presented workshops on the role of the media in a functioning democracy. |

Emcee: Peter Armstrong
Peter Armstrong is the host of World Report, Canada's most-listened-to radio news program. Originally from Oakville, Ontario, Armstrong in an award winning journalist who has covered important national stories from coast to coast. Armstrong was a foreign correspondent for CBC Television and CBC Newsworld, based in Jerusalem, and has reported from four continents and covered three wars. He has reported from the frontlines in Afghanistan and covered the Israeli- Palestinian conflict throughout Israel, The West Bank and the Gaza Strip. He has also reported live from Barack Obama's ancestral village in Kenya during the American presidential election in 2008. |

DJ DLUX
Cam Goeree, aka DJ DLUX, is a household name in the Toronto DJ scene. He has toured the planet performing at sold out concerts, NFL sporting events, and on Late Night Talk Shows. His scratching has been featured in the 2003 remake of The Italian Job, the television series Malcolm in the Middle, and in the Midway Sports video game NHL HITZ PRO. He has been honoured with roles such as the official DJ for the MTV CANADIAN Tour, The Official DJ for the Toronto Blue Jays and as a resident at Shuffle, a monthly party hosted by I Love T.O - a city staple since 2005. These days, you can find him playing Toronto's hotspots; including the Rodgers Centre, the Toronto Harbour Front Centre and his Saturday night residency at The Roosevelt Room. |

THE RUNNING RED LIGHTS
Formed in 2006, the 5 piece pop/rock ensemble has developed an impressive resume, including a self-titled EP release, produced by Juno winner, Gavin 'Golden' Brown (Billy Talent/Metric/Three Days Grace), and opening slots alongside The Trews and the Counting Crows. In 2010 the Running Red Lights won the coveted YouDiscover Concert Series which was followed by a record contract with indie label inDiscover Recordings. The RRL's continue to gain momentum as they perform across the province, including ET Canada's New Years Eve celebration in Niagara Falls where they played to a crowd of 30,000 and 2 million national viewers, alongside Canadian icons Kardinal Offishall, The Barenaked Ladies and The Great Big Sea. |
